Advocate wins four more SCPA awards

The Advocate has been honored with four more awards for journalistic excellence from the South Carolina Press Association.

At the SCPA’s annual meeting March 19 in Columbia, the 179-year-old newspaper was awarded first place in its division for newspaper publications, as well as second place for its AdvocateSC.org website, second place for The Messenger eNewsletter (produced in tandem with South Carolina Conference Communications) and third place in faith reporting for Advocate Editor Jessica Brodie’s article, Jesus Christ 101.

This brings the total to 80 awards the Advocate has won since 2010 from the SCPA, the United Methodist Association of Communicators and the Religion Communicators Council.
