United Methodist Women and Limitless inspire today’s youth

By Brittany Isaac

United Methodist Women and Limitless, its sect for younger women ages 14-30, are devoted to enriching the lives of others spiritually.

Knowing God and being a community of women is a necessity for the organizations. The women are believers on a mission to carry out God’s word. Both organizations serve a purpose that will surely profess throughout generations: “Faith, hope and love in action!” If you are secure in your relationship with God, then you will not be moved by the approval or disdain of others.

Limitless ladies are equipped with necessary tools to carry out this mission. Young ladies are given the chance to come together, work together and accomplish all while serving God. Our mission projects make a tremendous impact in the community.

As a Limitless member, I have been inspired by United Methodist Women. United Methodist Women encourage young ladies and take them under their wing. Deaconess Selena Ruth Smith is a phenomenal mentor. As women, we should be empowering each other. Limitless has allowed me to interact with women of various ages and backgrounds. I have learned the importance of faith, service and advocacy.

United Methodist Women are known for making a positive difference worldwide. I am filled with such enthusiasm to be apart of Limitless. We each have to allow ourselves to utilize our spiritual gifts. As Proverbs 31:26 reads, “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.” Limitless and United Methodist Women are both able to serve God in a way that fits any generation.

Growing up, I always shared an interest in helping others, and each day there is an opportunity to make a difference. Being a member of Limitless has contributed to many aspects of my life. I have learned the importance of fellowship and understand my purpose in life. Also, I think United Methodist Women are very committed and inspiring. United Methodist Women provide educational opportunities for members, training events and scholarships for young ladies. Mission u, the reading program and the national seminar are examples of such programs.

The number of young people involved in the church has significantly decreased. Limitless ladies can transcend barriers and bring about justice worldwide. I’m a firsthand witness of the young generation becoming scarce at St. Paul United Methodist Church, in Elliott. But with more mission projects like the ones we do, new members will be eager to spread God’s word. Come Together Be Together was a huge success and very beneficial.

I have strong hopes that more young women will become a part of Limitless. I feel like if I can reach out to females in my age range to get involved with Limitless, then eventually they will become leaders of United Methodist Women. Faithful servants never retire. You can retire from your career, but you will never retire from serving God.

I believe an abundance of great things will continue to transpire with United Methodist Women and Limitless. It is so important to reach out to the youth. They are the future. We have to continue to reach out and engage the community.
